Bareboat Charter Qualifications
Knotty Celebrations is offered as a bareboat charter. Guests who wish to operate the yacht themselves must have appropriate boating experience and confidence handling a vessel of this size and type.
Our goal is simple: to ensure every charter is safe, smooth, and enjoyable.
What We Look For
To qualify for self-operation of the yacht, we review practical experience such as:

Prior experience operating a similar size and type of vessel

Recent boating experience

Docking and maneuvering experience

Familiarity with tidal waters and navigation

Overnight anchoring or cruising experience
This is not about perfection. It is about safety, judgment, and confidence on the water.
How the Review Works
Once we receive your boating experience form, we review your background and determine whether self-operation is appropriate for the yacht.
If additional information is needed, we may follow up with a few questions before confirming approval.
Final approval for self-operation is based on safety considerations and remains at our discretion.

Some guests who qualify for self-operation ultimately decide they would rather focus entirely on the experience and leave navigation decisions to a professional.
That choice can be discussed after your initial inquiry, depending on your preferences and comfort level.
